The 2002 Thunderbird that is offered here, by a Private Owner, is a well maintained, low mileage beauty that will also bring with it's purchase the added intrensic value of owning a first of a design series Ford Thunderbird. Interpreting the VIN, this car was the 5628th of 31,368 Thunderbirds produced that year. The total miles on this car is 68,400. That equates to 3800+/- miles per year. It is a fully equipped car in Excellent condition with no chips or dings, and few and minimal blemishes that one might expect on an 18 year old car.The Attached photos tell the story. A hardtop and soft top version, so you can drive it and have fun year-round.
Exterior
"A picture is worth a thousand words", so many photos are attached to tell the story. A "Torch Red" exterior stands boldly and proudly, and shouts out its Excellent condition with straight steel, and well minded gaps. The uninhibited red body is contrasted by the bright chrome front grill. A power convertible top, in very excellent condition, raises and lowers quickly and effortlessly. If you want more protection, put on the available hard top, complete with the "harken back to the 50's" porthole window, and tinted glass, on either side. This hard top is also Torch Red, and it comes with an original, foam cushioned, steel rolling storage stand upon which to rest the hard top as you enjoy your wide open drop top treasure on a ride through the winding country roads. Bright chrome wheels embellish all 4 corners.
Interior
The dual bucket interior in Midnight Black leather, wraps numerous surfaces, and appears like new as does the seats. The "Retro" pattern Midnight Black seats, with highlighted Red 50s design "roll-and-pleated" center panels, recall the bold Torch Red exterior. No flaws noted in the carpet, (while sporting the original floor mats), headliner of the hardtop, or dash surfaces. White faced gauges with black numbers and indicators are imbedded into the curvaceous dash and are fronted by an original leather steering wheel which housed the Cruise controls, and Audio controls, Air Conditioning, an AM/FM/CD Stereo, power seats, power door locks, power mirrors, and power windows, along with a power tilt and extending steering wheel column, that automatically tilts upward for more leg room as you exit the car, are some of the options on this highly appointed car.
Drivetrain
A 3.9 Liter, Dual Overhead Cam, V8 sits within a clean engine bay. This is attached to a 5R55N 5 speed automatic transmission that shifts quietly and smoothly.
Undercarriage
Clean rust free and structurally sound - no problems here. We can note 4-wheel independent suspension, ABS brakes, and a 3.58 conventional axle.
A first-year reintroduction Bird that is very clean, and has been well maintained on schedule, with a clear title.
Note: Photos where the bottom red seat panels look faded are a result of the bright sun on the seat and the limitations of the camera. Same with the red gear shift knob.
