The Deluxe was offered by Ford as 1938 model to bridge the gap between its base model and the Lincoln line. It was thoroughly revised in 1941, in 1942 production halted for the war and it resumed again after the war ended in 1946. This particular example was converted into a show winning street rod about 20 years ago at which time it was chopped 4 inches, the door handles were shaved, the antenna and headlights were frenched and the suspension was lowered 3 inches giving it the menacing stance it has. The heart of this beauty is a professionally rebuilt 327ci V8 that is estimated to put out 300 horsepower. It is fed via a newer Edelbrock carb and intake, it is sparked by an electronic ignition and it sounds just plain nasty ripping through its performance dual exhaust system. Power is put to the narrowed 10 bolt posi rear end via a Muncie M-20 4 speed, both of which were rebuilt at the same time the vehicle was customized. It has independent front suspension with drop spindles and the rear has lowering springs with adjustable shocks. It has front disc brakes, power brakes and power steering. It also received a new interior with bucket seats covered in a sweet grey tweed that continues throughout the interior and the trunk. The trunk is power with an interior switch, it has an AM/FM cassette player, newer speakers, a power antenna, extra gauges, a tilt steering column as well as a custom steering wheel. The shaved doors are opened by lowering the power windows which can be done from the door key from the exterior or from the interior switches. The paint and trim work were all redone about 20 years ago but still show incredibly well. It also has a sweet set of staggered Chrome Eagle Alloy rims wrapped in newer BF Goodrich Radial T.A. tires. The graphics painted on the rear quarter panels and the trunk are on top of the clear coat so they can easily be removed if so desired. The odometer was reset when the car was built and shows 15,616 miles since. Everything is working as it should and she is need of nothing but a new home. We have priced her to move as quickly as she goes so if you like what you see don’t wait until it is too late to reach out! SOLD
