The Shoebox runs on a flathead V8 with a 3 speed manual (3 on the tree) transmission. This 1949 Shoebox shines with the deep dark blue paint which is offset by the brilliant chrome trim. The frame off restoration performed 10 years ago has made this vehicle stand out amongst the great cars of its kind. The 1949 Shoebox has been stored in a climate controlled garage the entire time since its restoration. The non numbers matching but period correct flathead 8 cylinder Mercury engine looks, sounds, and runs great as it was rebuilt at time of restoration. As you sit in the driver’s seat and grab a hold of the original steering wheel, the look of the polished aircraft inspired dashboard takes you back in time, however the upgrade to a 12 volt system insures that they are working properly today and will be for the years to come.
