The Mustang Mach 1 is a performance package introduced by Ford in August 1968 for the 1969 model year. The Mach 1 package was only available with a SportsRoof previously known as the Fastback and its recipe was simple: It started with a V8 powered SportsRoof body and added numerous visual and performance enhancing items such as matte black hood treatment with hood pins, a Shaker hood scoop, competition suspension, a chrome pop open gas cap, revised wheels, a deluxe interior as well as a dealer optioned chin spoiler and rear deck spoiler. This particular example was born on 01/29/69 in San Jose, CA and is accompanied by a Marti Report to confirm how it was delivered. It’s original equipment include the 390-4V S code engine, Candy Apple Red Paint with black out hood treatment, a Dark Red Interior, a 3.25 rear end, a C-6 tranny, a Sport Deck rear seat, power front disc brakes, power steering, an AM radio, tinted glass and a heavy duty battery. It was also dealer optioned with the front chin spoiler and rear deck spoiler. This car was rotisserie restored less than one year ago and there are less than 100 miles on the car since. It has 92,826 original miles and was a rust free CA car when the restoration started. Its original date code correct engine was professionally rebuilt and everything on this car is in excellent condition. It was originally an automatic car but was converted to a 4 speed during the restoration. Additionally it originally had a Dark Red interior which was changed to Black and the 14” Rallye rims were upgraded to 15” chrome Rallye rims with 215/70R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. There are stacks of receipts and a full binder on the engine rebuild alone which was done by Track Tamer Engines out of DeWitt, IA. The cost of the restoration alone exceeds what we are asking for the car. Not only that but we would classify this as a number 1 car and accordingly would appraise it at $87,480 which is the current NADA high value. We are serious about getting this car sold and have priced it accordingly. If you could see this beauty sitting your garage you better call us before it’s too late!
