This 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The 1965 Mustang was the automaker's most successful launch since the Model A. It was originally based on the platform of the second generation North American Ford Falcon. This all stock 289 V8 C-code engine, with a C4 automatic is the true meaning of entry level for the Mustang enthusiast. Under the hood of this Mustang you will find what is believed to be the original 289 V8 with a 2 barrel carburetor. While the current owner does know if the engine has been rebuilt, it doesn’t smoke or burn oil, and has excellent throttle response. A new carburetor, new distributor, fuel pump, spark plugs and plug wires have been recently installed. This Mustang also has a new set of brakes and a fresh battery, so the general maintenance has been taken care of and this Pony is ready to drive. The chrome work is in very good shape and gives this little pony a clean look. The Mustang has been repainted and the color is very close to Signal Flare Red. To set the bright red paint off is a nice white vinyl top. The vinyl on the top is in great condition and looks to have been recently installed. A quick look on the underside of this car will show the floor pans and sub frames to be in great shape. Inside, you will find your basic Mustang interior with a set of vinyl bucket seats, a floor shifter for the automatic, factory gauges and an AM/FM radio. The seats are in great condition, and the dash pad looks almost new.
