1973 Ford Mustang

When this car was born in August of 1972, it left the Dearborn assembly plant as a 302 convertible with a 2 barrel carburetor mated to a C4 automatic transmission with 3.00:1 rear end gears. That’s how it’s presented today, with the exception of a new Edelbrock intake manifold to support a 4bbl carb, and some other engine dress up parts that make the engine bay quite pleasing. Watch the video and listen to the 302 rumble. Its pleasing sound goes through factory exhaust manifolds and stainless steel pipe that end in dual Flowmaster mufflers.
The car was originally a nice shade of Blue Glow Metallic. It’s been recently repainted with a fairly decent job – it’s not a Concours quality car, but if you’re looking for a driver that will put a smile on your face whenever you see it in your garage, you can’t go wrong with this Mustang. The white hood stripe over the functional vents perfectly complements the white convertible soft top, and a set of American Racing Magnum 500 wheels add a period-correct touch of pony car style.
Put down the power convertible top and the white vinyl interior is largely untouched. There are some blue rubber Mustang pony floor mats, but the upholstery and door panels are original. Again, they are not perfect, but are very presentable and the seats are comfortable. This convertible pony has air conditioning, too, so you can enjoy a drive in your new Mustang in any weather, hot or cold, with the top up or down. A Jensen AM/FM cassette deck supplies the music, but you’re just one 3.5mm cassette adapter away from enjoying your library of MP3s on your favorite device. The odometer shows 18,901 miles, which we believe to have rolled over once, reflecting 118,901 miles.
