For Sale, from my private collection, a documented, truly rare 1 of 1 1970 Ford Mustang Convertible. This is a first quality, investment grade, collectors automobile.
This is the only 1970 Mustang Convertible produced with a 351-2V Windsor engine and automatic transmission that was painted Calypso Coral with décor interior and equipped with a shaker hood scoop.
This car has been totally restored, and is showroom ready. Every part of the car including every bolt, nut and fastener was painstakingly removed cleaned refinished and/or replaced as was documented by original pictures taken as dismantled.

Description of Drive-train.
Engine:
The block for this engine was not factory original to this car, as car was built October of 1969 the date code of the block is 0E9 and according to what the previous owner said the original block was defective and was dealer replaced early.
The heads, Intake and water pump are original to car and date codes match build time line of car.
Engine was recently rebuilt when we bought although rust had gotten into the intake and rather than guess, we just had it completely gone through and honed the cylinders and replaced piston rings and bearings.
This was built to factory specs by a professional engine builder. Has not been dynoed but figure on 250HP as per factory 351W 2V.
Carburetor is a 2100 autolite and has been rebuilt, replated and restored by a carburetor professional.
Transmission:
The case of this FMX automatic is original to the car and has the vin number stamped in the case.
This was professionally rebuilt, and re-detailed as it came out of the car with the factory markings that were present.
Drive Shaft:
The original drive shaft was media blasted, new u-joints installed and re-detailed as factory.
Rear Axle:
The original 9” (open) center section was inspected and rebuilt by a professional. The housing and axles were media blasted and cleaned and refinished with pre-existing factory markings.
Other Systems:
Exhaust:
Aluminized steel, one muffler two into one design as factory installed. New hangars. All reproduction but as close to original in design as possible.
Brakes:
All new shoes and drums all around, new hardware and master cylinder. Re-detailed original e-brake cables and hardware.
Wiring:
Original wiring was inspected, cleaned, tested and re-wrapped and re-braided (rear). Engine wiring and alternator pigtails are new. Voltage regulator and starter relay is new exact reproduction.
Tires and Wheels:
Tires are F-70-14 Goodyear Polyglas as installed from factory on Mach 1 Mustangs, on Ford factory 14 x 7 steel wheels with original 1970 Mach 1 wheel covers. A set of N.O.S. Ford factory wheel covers as this car came with are included.
Suspension:
Front coils are as factory, supplied by Eaton Detroit Spring, rear springs are best quality reproduction. Front suspension is best quality reproduction parts re-detailed as factory installed. Shocks are new and are detailed to resemble factory installed.
Interior:
Dash pad is Ford tooling, dash pods and wood appliques are original1970 parts restored, under dash has been media blasted and refinished in original dark metalic charcoal paint, console is original with some top pieces reproduction. Seats are all original and recovered using high quality reproduced coverings. Door panels are new high quality reproductions using original detailed inserts.
Glass:
Windshield and driver's door glass are new Carlite with date code as built etched in, all other glass is original to car and in good condition. All glass is Sun-X, tinted.
Convertible Top:
Frame is original1969 with a rebuilt electric motor/pump and new hydraulic cylinder, Vinyl top is all new and custom made to resemble the original factory material and style. Back glass is Robbin's folding glass with a brass zipper. The liner is a exact reproduction and properly finishes the trunk view as few convertibles are, the boot is a quality reproduction being stored in the trunk in an original boot bag with a date code of 69.
Trim:
Windshield trim pieces are polished original with the header and boot trim re-chromed original. Front headlight moldings are quality reproductions. The rocker moldings are factory original1970 (only!) and are restored, re-anodized aluminum. (just try to find these!)
Paint and Body Work:
Car had some rust, and all body panels that needed attention were repaired/replaced by a local Mustang Specialty body shop. Paint is a two stage basecoat/clearcoat original Calypso Coral color. The Hood is a textured black paint as factory installed by using a stencil of the original layout.SOLD
