1953 Ford Mainline Ranch Wagon

The Ranch Wagon was a station wagon built by Ford from 1952 to 1977. In the early 1950’s the era of the wood-bodied station wagon was coming to an end. When Ford introduced a redesigned line of cars for the 1952 model year the Country Squire continued to cater to buyers who still wanted a station wagon with the look of wood. Ford also gave them two new choices that year, the first all-steel wagons in the firm's history. These were the four door Country Sedan and the two door Ranch Wagon. The standard engine on the Ranch Wagon was the 215ci six-cylinder engine with overhead valves referred to as the Mileage Maker. This particular example was optioned with the overdrive transmission which still shifts perfectly as well as a radio delete plate which is still intact. It was repainted about 10 years ago in its original colors of Carnival Red and Sand Piper Beige. The floor pans, trunk pan and rest of the under carriage are all original and in exceptionally good condition. The body is completely filler free but there are some minor rust bubbles showing under the paint on the lips of both the rear quarters and there is some minor paint cracking on the very rear of the car under and to the left of the lower rear door. The car is very original with the exception of the newer headliner, aftermarket seat belts, chrome rims, radial tires and tinted windows. It has been recently serviced and everything is working as it should except for the clock. It is 100% road worthy and could be driven anywhere without concern. We would consider this car to be in well above average condition but have priced as if it were a below average car for a quick sale.
