For sale in our Chicago showroom is a 1964 Ford Galaxie that is out of this world. Ford unveiled the Galaxie in 1959 and affectionately named this full size car Galaxie to gain excitement surrounding the Space Race of the time. To look at quality construction of this car it could have passed as a luxury car of the time. This car is very special for a lot of reasons starting with it being a very nice and straight car that was originally from California with restoration that paid very close attention to all exterior and trim. The Wimbelton white paint was refreshed in 2003 and looks fantastic in contrast with the light blue original styled interior. This car can be taken in a couple of different directions by adding or subtracting certain parts. One way this car has been shown is with the mock hood and racing decals to make it look like a nostalgic racer and bring back those memories of watching these types of cars run around the track with the souped up v8s. Another option is to bring it closer to the original appearance or even a stock looking sleeper. The 390 Cubic Inch V8 purrs right up with a turn of the key and is well fed via the 3 duce setup and breathes easily through the shorty headers with cutouts. Power on this bad boy is delivered through a 4-Speed Top Loader transmission with Hurst linkage and shifter. The NOS interior is finished nicely and includes a Moon Tach and gauges, Pioneer CD player with hidden speakers. Under the hood you will notice the Protronics Ignition, New aluminum radiator with electric fan, removable roll bar, and finned valve covers. Located in our Chicago showroom this 1964 Ford Galaxie can be seen including an HD video and pictures at www.gatewayclassiccars.com.
