1961 Ford Galaxie Starliner

The 1961 Ford Starliner is one of the prettiest and most sought after classic Ford Galaxies ever made. Ford had a very low production year for Starliners in 1961 with only 29,669 made which explains why they are harder to find than some other Galaxie models. The 1961 Starliners will generally have a little larger price tag than other years but usually represent a better investment. This is one of the nicest Starliners we have had the opportunity to present for sale.

The paint is in excellent condition with good shine and the pale yellow color with the tear drop bubble hood give the Starliner a striking appearance, the dash and its trim are nice. Seats, carpet, door panels and package tray have recently been replaced new. The trunk was also custom upholstered with the same materials as the interior. The original AM radio is still in place, but there is an AM/FM stereo radio below the dash. Factory style air conditioning blows cold for hot summer cruises. Sitting behind the steering wheel, looking out over the tear drop bubble hood with the 4 speed shifter knob in hand and the tachometer in front of you feels just right. All glass and bright work looks good.

Suspension and brakes are in good condition and stop and steer well. Underneath the car is very solid with no visible rust. The big block 352 CI has a great sound through its dual exhaust. Tires are 215/75/14 on front and 235/75/15 on rear which gives it good stance. The factory brakes work well and stop swiftly. The differential is a good gear ratio that offers performance but is right at home at highway speeds.
