1964 Ford Galaxie 500 2Dr HT Fastback 5 speed. This 'skylight blue Ford is really perfect. I have this car now for 7 years and made many changes. The car was all its live in North Carolina until I bought from the Nascar museum next to the Charlotte race track.
These cars were famous in the 64 not only because of their beautiful body lines with a much lower roof that all Fastback models received with the model year 63 ½ but also due their tremendous success in Nascar.
This Ford has received a lot attention and all technical parts are new, overhauled or modified. It drives and brakes like a modern car but makes much more fun.
Engine: 289 cui high compression, high lift cam, Torker 1 single plane intake, 600cfm Holley racing carb tuned to this engine, racing Summit/Mallory ignition
Trans: T5 manual 5 speed transmission complete new overhauled from a 89 Mustang Cobra (250mls) with new input and output shaft, short tail housing to move shifter 4 inches forward, mew 10,5 “ clutch, long neck Hurst shifter, Custom Dynatech steel driveshaft balanced to 8000rpm
rearend: Ford 9' 28spline, 4:11 gears with Detroit locker
suspension front: all new bushings, new Big Block springs shorten 2.5”, KYB gas shocks
suspension rear: all new bushings, new leaf springs dropped 2.5”, KYB gas shocks
brakes: front and rear slotted and drilled disc brakes, with GM calipers (C3 Corvette), power brakes.
Steering: manual, exhaust 40series Flowmaster
new chromed bumpers front and rear, new taillights
wheels front 18” Coys, 245/40/18, rear 20” Coys, 275/40/20
