This is the finest example of a near perfect Ford Galaxie 500 I''ve seen since they were new in 1966. It is as though this car has been in a time capsule, and has documented 96,346 actual miles. The only restoration on this car appears to be one repaint. The car is completely original with the exception of glass pack mufflers and an AM/FM cassette stereo. However, the factory AM radio is still in dash and in good working order. Everywhere you look this car looks brand new. Bright work, both interior and exterior, look as good as the day it left the dealership new. Tinted glass is believed to be original and looks exceptionally good. All interior such as door panels, seats, carpets, headliner, dash and all related parts look like new. Vinyl seats are soft and supple. The engine compartment looks new, original and completely unmolested. The trunk looks new with the original trunk mat and it''s original 7.35/15 spare tire which has never been on the ground, and of course the trunk light works. Receipts show that new 205/75/15 Uniroyal tiger paw white wall tires were installed on all corners in June 2014. The original steel wheel and hubcaps are still very nice. The original drum brakes that were standard for the year stop the car very well. Paint looks fresh with no chips or dings and is the original color. Power steering makes driving easy. Engine is a 289ci, two barrel carb. which moves the car very well, and you can cruise all day long on a minimum amount of fuel. Transmission is a 3-speed manual on the column. Everything that came on the car still works; clock, interior lights, turn signals, brake lights, trunk light, and even the in-dash cold light that comes on and stays until engine is up to operating temperature. This is the kind of car that doubles as a dependable driver and a really sharp classic cruiser. It can be enjoyed all the time instead of occasional weekends.
