This 1963 Ford Galaxie 500XL Convertible has the original number matching 352ci Thunderbird V-8 at 220 horsepower "FE" with a 2 BBL The transmission is a Cruise-O-Matic three speed Automatic. The 352 2BBL has just been completely rebuilt by a 30+ years’ professional performance engine builder and comes with a warranty. All the internal part such as piston, all bearing, cam, lifters, values, value's seats and many other parts have been replaced. All exterior engine parts have also been replaced with OEM parts or rebuilt. The complete drivetrain is in excellent shape.
All the chrome, stainless and all other trim parts, and there is a lot of it, including the bumpers and the intricate grille, still maintains its shine and are original with no missing pieces. The red interior is also nicely preserved and all original, but in the interest of full disclosure, the seats have some spots which need to be re-stitched. The carpet has been replaced and the carpet on the door panels could also be replaced.
The convertible top and rear window have just recently been replaced and all part work great.
Look at the pictures, this car is extremely impressive with its color combination and its fender skirts. The engine bay is clean enough to pass for restored. Underneath, it's just as clean and still has the original factory undercoating, befitting a car of this age and mileage. The car rolls on a set of new whitewall radials with original Ford hubcaps.
