The 1970 Galaxie was built bigger and stronger than previous models and was becoming more luxurious as the years passed. The dashboard was built as a pod around the driver rather than traditionally extending across both sides. The rear trim panel below the tail lights was used to distinguish the different trim levels. Ford engineers worked hard to achieve the quiet ride and luxury car comfort that was found in the 1970 Galaxie 500 XL. Ironically 1970 was the last year for XL. This particular car has had 3 owners and currently has 41,796 original miles. It retains its original 351ci V8 engine as well as its original Cruise-O-Matic three speed automatic transmission. This beauty is factory optioned with concealed headlights, high back bucket seats, power disc brakes and electric defrost. It received a major service in 2009 at 41,737 miles at which time it received new brakes and a complete tune up (including new fluids and filters). The third and current owner purchased this car in 2011 and has barely put 200 miles on it. Since purchasing it they did an oil & filter change, installed a new heater core, glass packs and had all new brake lines installed. We would classify this car as an above average quality driver but have priced it as a below average car for a quick sale. With the price we are asking this car is sure to sell quickly so if you could see yourself in this car you better call before it is too late!
