The 1967 Ford Fairlane GT is one of the best looking and most desired Fairlanes of them all. The GT was a combination of sleek, sporty styling with great performance. The tailored look via curved side glass and flanks, stacked quad headlights and tidy vertical taillights had given the previous year and the 1967 Fairlanes a whole new look. This was the first Fairlane body style to be given the big block FE engine and with the exception of the rare 427 CI the GT came with a 390 CI, 355 HP engine which was very potent in that size car. With only 18690 hard top sport coupe GT cars produced in 1967, you don’t see the cars as often as some others.
Although this GT is not a show car it’s an above average car for cruise-ins and local car shows. The gorgeous yellow paint with its black hood scoops and stripes make it a real looker. Glass and bright work is not new but it is very good with only a few minor blemishes. Interior is original with its stylish bucket seats and console with 4 speed shifter is in good condition.
Underneath the car looks good and is very solid as pictures show. Steering is tight and there are disc brakes on the front, drum brakes on the rear.
The engine is a 390 CI with C7AE-A 428 CI Shelby GT 500 heads. It has a good clutch and a 3.50 positraction rear end. Engine compartment and trunk are clean, neat and all look original with the exception of some extra dress up chrome on the engine.
Check out the video we made of the car running with the headers open. It runs and pulls as good as it sounds. Just open the headers and cruise, it’s worth the ticket!
