Exterior
This stunning 1951 Ford F2 Pickup has been in the care of the current owner/collector for the past 10 years and received a professional total nut and bolt body-off frame restoration that took 5-years to complete, with less than 100 miles since completion. It is refinished in 1951 factory Mexicali Maroon (Opalescent) paint. The original hood, doors, pickup bed, and tailgate are laser straight with uniform gaps throughout. The original bed wood supports have been replaced with white oak and the bed relined with rare and exotic African mahogany. The owner took the liberty of having the grille and both bumpers refinished with show-chrome plating resulting in components that are perfectly straight, shiny, and flawless. All door gaskets, window glass, and felt side-window glass felt guides have been replaced.
Interior
The well-appointed deluxe interior is completely restored with all metal surfaces refinished in the exterior
Mexicali Maroon paint. The re-built bench seat is covered with Tan ultra suede and vinyl. The headliner is fitted with Tan ultra suede and the floor and kick panels are covered with matching Tan carpet. All instruments, lamps, switches are fully operable.
Engine and Driveline
The original drive train and suspension were completely rebuilt during the course of the restoration. All body and other rubber mounts were replaced. The 239 cu. in. 100 hp Flat Head V8 is quiet, runs strong, and does not have any signs of fluid leaks. As with any non-synchronized transmission, the 4-speed spur gear manual transmission likes the art of double-clutching when down shifting around corners. Every original suspension component was either reconditioned or replaced from the front semi-elliptic leaf springs, front and rear shock absorbers, I-beam front axle, semi-floating, integral housing type rear axle, to the rear semi-elliptic rear springs. This F2 Pickup runs and drives perfectly.
This fine, investment grade example of a correctly restored, Classic, Post-War beauty is a must have in any serious Ford First Generation F-Series collection!
