1971 FORD F100 4X4 SPORT CUSTOM: This pickup belonged to my step-grandfather, since new I believe. I can remember him owning it as far back as I can remember. He was a depression era WWII pilot, and very picky about this pickup. He had another pickup he used for hauling wood and plowing. It was garaged, maybe since new. To my knowledge, it was used for town trips and local stuff. The mileage is most likely original at 96k. The engine runs nice and has no blowby. It looks to need gaskets, or maybe just cleaned up and the valve covers etc. tightened. It's just a 390 I believe. 2-barrel. It needs exhaust, and probably a tuneup/fluids changed. The choke is not hooked up so it doesn't start good when cold. I'd just put a new carb on it with electric choke. It needs tires. It drives good with good tires. I temporarily put tires/wheels on it off my '72, and it drove nice. This pickup has power steering which was added, and power brakes. 4-speed manual with granny low. 4x4 all works. Brakes work but need bled. I put one new brake line on and didn't bleed the full system. Parking brake, interior light, lights, heater, radio, signals, etc. etc. all work. The body looks nice, and is pretty nice for a 71, but it has some rust. Up until about 10 years ago, the truck had no dents. It has one now in the bumpside of the passenger box side. A new trim piece wouldmake it look better, the wheelwell trim was also damaged there but NOT the wheelwell. It would be easy to push the dent out and replace the trim. The original owner was sickened when this dent occured lol. There is some rust, and the price reflects this. Some in the front fenders. They can be patched. The cab has rust in the corners, floors some. I can detail the rust for serious buyers. The box is nice and I don't believe any rust there but will double check. No frame rust. Salt is not a problem here in montana but rust still happens some. Not frame rust though. Clear title. Many more pics available. It was very bright so I took pics when a cloud was out and now some look too dark. I have more pics too. It's a bright red that pops in the sun. One hubcap is gone. Nice interior and it's clear that it was taken care of. It has a CB too! Door panels, headliner, floormat, dash, etc. is all in good shape. Some nicer than others but everything is in good shape for an original '71. The seat may be fine under the seat cover. I'll check it. SOLD
