I bought this last summer planning to use it as a weekend cruiser, home depot runner. While its been on a few home depot runs, I refuse to drive it in the winter (want to keep it clean) and its ended up being more of a glorified lawn ornament, so my wife says it needs to go.
This is a great vehicle to just drive as is, do a full restoration, or resto-mod. I'm selling it so I can use the proceeds to buy a 'newer' used truck that I wouldn't care about running into the ground. I was
told it was a barn find in Arizona, brought
to Wisconsin (garage), then to Michigan
(garage), and finally to me (covered
outdoors).
I am not a mechanic, so I won't be able to
answer any specific mechanical questions
about it. It runs fine, I've never had an
issue, and when I took it to my mechanic he said it was in great shape.
Pros:
All original
No mechanical issues.
Low Mileage: Person I brought it from though the miles on it were original miles... I only put 200 or so miles on it since I purchased it last August. (However, there is no way I can prove the miles are original, odometer could have rolled over).
Starts right up - only issue I've ever had is
after it sat for nearly two months in the
winter it needed a jump
No rot - only surface rust underneath the
vehicle.
Cons:
When I bought it, it had some weird hood
spring installed and when driving home the hood flipped open and hit the windshield area (no damage except to the hood). I replaced the hinges and it works fine now... however the hood is slightly dented and some paint did chip off.
Heat doesn't work - I don't know why, might be a loose wire, bad fuse, or just shot after 56 years.
No radio - just an empty slot where it was.
There are some small scratches/chips on the paint job
No back bumper
I have a clean MA title and the inspection
sticker on it is good until 8/18. If I had a
garage I would keep it but I don't so I'd
like to sell it to someone who can enjoy it.
Please send me an email and include your name and number and I will get back to you. Get it now and enjoy it for the rest of the summer - I'll be driving it around until its sold.
