In 1938 Ford introduced the DeLuxe model as an upscale alternative to bridge the gap between the Standard models and the luxury Lincoln models. This particular example was converted into a top of the line street rod in the mid 2000s with a body that has been frenched, shaved and chopped. The heart of this street rod is a fuel injected 300hp LT-1 engine from a 1996 Corvette that has been completely dressed up with a chrome top end, a chrome alternator and a long list of polished parts which give the engine bay some real sparkle. The transmission is a 4L60E from the same car and it has Ford 8.8 posi rear end. The exhaust is handled by a set of performance headers and a 2.5 stainless exhaust that sounds just plain nasty. It has 4-wheel disc brakes with polished rotors and calipers as well as all stainless lines, power steering, chrome rear shocks, chrome leaf springs, chrome front end components and adjustable coil over front shocks. The interior is completely custom from top to bottom with a ton of billet parts as well as a gorgeous blend of lavender, grey and purple that is carried through the trunk. It has power windows, tilt steering, cruise control, Vintage Air A/C (needs recharged), a custom sound system and the doors and trunk are all on poppers adding to the super clean look. The power antenna comes up and the power license plate flips down when the car is powered up. When it is turned off the antenna goes down and plate flips up. The super clean exterior is set off by a sweet set of 17 Weld Racing rims, a nice clean chrome strip down the center of the grill and the gorgeous stainless steel exhaust tips. This car was completed in 2007 at a build cost of close to $120,000. The owner who had the car built sold it at Barret Jackson in 2010. The buyer paid just over $80,000 for it by the time he got it home from the auction. Just a few months after he got it home it was involved in a minor collision which resulted in the front end needing to be repaired. The current owner, who we represent on consignment, had all of the repairs made and the car was completely repainted in its previous color of Purple Metallic which looks beautiful. It also has brand new tires and a new battery. There are a total of 887 miles that have been put on the car since it was originally built and with the exception of the A/C needing to be recharged everything is in perfect working order. We have priced this gorgeous street rod for a quick sale so if you like what you see you better get in touch with us before its too late! SOLD
