Founded as the Dodge Brothers Company by brothers Horace and John Dodge in 1900, Dodge was originally a supplier of parts for Detroit based automakers. They began building complete vehicles in 1915 predating the founding of the Chrysler Corporation. The Dodge brothers both died suddenly in 1920 and the company was sold to Dillon, Read & Co. in 1925 before being sold to Chrysler in 1928. Dodge Brothers cars were practical, no nonsense vehicles known for their ruggedness and reliability. This particular example is a 1924 Roadster that has been tastefully converted to a gorgeous street rod. Although the car retains none of its original components the body is 100% steel and in awesome condition. The heart of this sweet machine is a 350 V8 that was bored .030 over which makes it a 355 now that is estimated to put out about 400 hp. It is sparked with an Accel ignition, coil and wires. It is fed by an Edelbrock 650cfm carb and Performer intake. The exhaust is handled by a set of ceramic coated performance headers that sound just plain nasty ripping through its 2.5” dual exhaust. The power is put to the 9” posi rear end via a performance built T400 tranny. It boast a gorgeous all leather interior with a matching leather hard top. The tilt steering column is all chrome with a matching chrome and leather steering wheel. It has a gorgeous wood dash with matching trim pieces and Stewart Warner gauges. The gorgeous red paint is tastefully accented with gold pin stripes and it looks stunning with all of the chrome being in excellent condition. The 15” rally rims with perfectly chromed trim rings and center caps which compliment all of the rest of the chrome that is all in perfect condition. The engine was rebuilt at the same time the car was built which was about 10 years ago. The car currently has 1,169 miles and shows like the restoration was completed last year. Over $30,000 went into the build of this car which didn’t account for the cost of the car. If you are in the market for an early all steel street rod this is one that will not only stand out in a crowd but won’t break the bank either. We have priced it aggressively so if you like what you see time is of the essence! SOLD
