This 1965 Dodge D100 Pickup Truck is for sale in our Louisville Showroom. The D Series is a line of pickup trucks that was sold by Dodge from 1961 to 1980. After 1980, the trucks were renamed the Dodge Ram and the same basic design was retained until the 1994 introduction of a completely redesigned Ram. This 1965 D100 has gone from originally being a farm truck to a show stopping custom street machine. When this project started, this D100 had been pretty much used up, with over 100000 miles on the odometer, the 318 poly engine and 4-speed transmission were used up, and the truck was in a wonderful color of rattle can red. Of course this was all about to change! A 1958 Imperial was sourced as a donor for the drive train. A 392 Hemi with a TorqueFlite transmission was just the ticket to wake this old truck up. The 392 Hemi was kept fairly mild after the rebuild. The engine has been topped with a Weiand intake and dual Carter AFB carburetors. Taking care of the exhaust is a set of 2.5 inch Hedman headers. Insuring the engine fires properly is Mallory distributor, MP box, a rev limiter, and a MSD 6AL ignition box. The TorqueFlite transmission was sent out to Gentry Transmissions for a complete rebuild. A Hughes 2500 stall 11 inch convertor was also added to the transmission. Making sure the rear end is up to the task of the larger power plant is a Chrysler 831/44 Sure Grip with 3.55 gears. As for the body and frame of this D100, the truck was stripped down; the cab and bed were sent to Mt. View Body shop in Phoenix AZ. There the truck was prepped and then painted in a beautiful Turquoise and White PPG basecoat/clearcoat system. The interior needed to look as good as the rest of the truck, the D100 was sent off to Collins Upholstery in Mesa AZ, where the custom leather seating was created. A LeCarra steering wheel finishes off the look, and really brings the interior together. A concealed sound system provides listening enjoyment while driving this super cool truck. However, you may prefer the sweet sound of that 392 Hemi V8! Options on this 1965 Dodge D100 Pickup Truck for sale include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM radio with CD player, Power Steering, Leather Interior, and Aluminum Alloy Wheels wrapped in Raised White Letter Radial Tires.
