1972 Chevrolet Nova Coupe
Being offered for sale is this very nicely appointed 1972 Chevrolet Nova Coupe. It is probably one of the nicest Third Generation "dry" California examples we've seen. This Nova was previously restored as original, except for the high-performance Chevy ZZ4 crate engine and TH350 transmission. Painted in its original color of Gulf Green, this is one solid Nova with no evidence of rust or accident damage; just a nice show quality driver. Exterior: A complete re-paint was performed by a southern California Chevrolet dealership. Prior to application of the 2-stage with clear coat finish, all stainless body trim and chrome pieces were removed. The results are remarkable and showroom fresh. Interior: The factory bench seat interior, dash pad, door panels, scuff plates, kick panels, rear side panels, armrest pads, dome light and base, and headliner are free of any rips, tears, scratches or other blemishes often found in cars of this era with original interior. Like the exterior, the interior is close to factory original with the exception of a steering column mounted Sun super tach II and below dash oil, amp and temp gauge set, 2-speed electric wipers, and CD player. An Owner's manual is included. As expected, all instrumentation, lamps and other electrical components are in their proper operating condition. Engine and Driveline: The engine bay houses a strong, affordable to operate and dependable high-performance Chevy ZZ4 crate engine. High-flow aluminum heads are the keys to the ZZ4’s robust 355 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. They boast 163-cc intake runners, raised exhaust ports, and tight, 58-cc combustion chambers that enhance compression and power. The heads feature 1.94/1.50-inch valves for efficient performance. The rest of the ZZ4 350 package is comprised of a brand-new four-bolt block, forged steel crankshaft, high-silicon pistons, and a hydraulic roller camshaft. It also includes an aluminum intake, Holley four-barrel carburetor, and HEI distributor, as well as a starter, water pump, fuel pump, and front-end accessory drive kit — including an air conditioning compressor, alternator, etc. Headers and a dual exhaust system were also added. Behind the ZZ4 is a professionally rebuilt TH350 transmission with a mild shift kit followed by the factory driveline and rear differential housing 3.08 highway gears. Wheels and Tires: BF Goodrich T/A Radials 15X7 P205/60R15 front and 15X8 P235/60R15 rear are mounted on polished American Racing Torq Thrust II wheels.
