1971 Chevrolet Kingswood Wagon-454 BIG BLOCK MTR.RARE!
If u r looking @ this listing then I'm sure that u love these old 'clamshell' wagons like I do!
And this is probably the most rarest[most hardest] year to find!
Like most,I love the louvers on the tailgate[espically since this was done on 1971 year models only].
And then of course the BEST part,454 BIG BLOCK!!!
Car runs/drives great!
It's a one time repaint and looks ok[good enough] but is driver quality-nothing else! If it had a better[higher end] paint job the price would be a couple of grand more @ least!
Also,as u can see its motor compartment is all original[untouched] needing a little freshening up,just the average deal here!
It has a minor exhaust leak up front that needs to be addressed but no big deal here[whole exhaust system minus manifolds is brand new and sounds great]!
Its interior is in 'ok' shape but to make it nice it could use some restoring like a new dash pad or overlay[but I have one on its way],minor seat repair, redye some plastic trim pieces[mainly on bottom of door [front seat only]panels],rt.sunvisor needs to be put back on but it's there],and if wanted to be all original u would put another instrumentation cluster in it because original owner cut out rt.side of this one and fitted/added some aftermarket gauges which all r currently working[doesn't look bad @ all,I'm starting to even like it personally] but it would only take swapping out cluster to have it all stock again-if wanted.
SO,IN AND OUT IT COULD USE SOME TYPICAL RESTORING BUT JUST THE AVERAGE DEAL,DOESN'T NEED ANYTHING DRASTIC!
Body is solid[at least for the most part from everything I can see],it does have a little damage on rt.qt.around lip @ bottom from a tire that blew out but no big deal,is barely noticeable-easy to fix!
This was a lifelong California car[which is one reason why I bought it] SO THIS IS WHY IT'S SUPER SOLID!
It even sits on its original Ca.title!
The only other thing I'll note is that it has a couple of dings in front bumper but it can be easily straightened out!
And the clamshell is currently working fine!
Car is 40 years old,I'm sure I'm forgetting a thing or two so just please use common sense in thinking about what any 40 year old car will need in restoration but again car does NOT need anything drastic/major!
I LOVE IT,but I currently own 5 wgns.SOOO just kinda c'n what this one will do however I KNOW I'VE PRICED IT MORE THAN FAIR!!!
For it to espically be a 1971 year model[1st.year],a Kingswood Estate, and to be a 454 BIG BLOCK CAR[AND AN AC CAR] I KNOW U CAN'T BEAT THIS PRICE!!!
OH,AND IT IS A 3RD.ROW SEATING CAR TOO[PERFECT 3RDROW SEAT]!
Just added some very cool hurricane type wheels/bfg tires and a very nice black GM Rally Steering wheel[$250.00 $ wheel].
Car has a brand new exhaust, recent shocks, and even a recent ac compressor! Ac is cold but fan motor isn't currently working but whenever u cut ac on you can hear system come on[blows out cold on a low speed sometimes].
Note previous owner says it's a 454 however info.tag on shround shows it to be a 402 sooo-?
But for only $5,750.00 I don't really think it matters or not whether it is a 454 or a 402,just wanted to note this!
THIS CAR DRIVES SOOOO DARN GOOD!!! I REALLY GOT A CHANCE TO DRIVE IT YESTERDAY AND IT DRIVES AS TIGHT AS A NEW CAR!
SUPER FAST TOO!!! A REAL POWERHOUSE FOR ALL THE WAY!
I MUST SAY THAT I'M EXTRA IMPRESSED WITH THIS CAR RIGHT NOW!
I REMOVED LUGGAGE RACK FOR MY LIKING BUT OF COURSE I STILL HAVE IT TO GO ALONG WITH SALE IF SOLD[IF I EVEN SELL IT NOW,AM SERIOUSLY THINKING ABOUT JUST KEEPING IT]!
But I guess this or my '58 Brookwood needs to go!
The only other thing I'll note that I noticed is gas tank is patched due to previous owner stupidly jacking it up there and I guess punctured it but again it's patched and holding fine[tank looks overall great too as does everything I can see underneath.
THANKS FOR LOOKING!!!
NEXT WEEK I WILL HAVE FRONT SEAT REPAIRED[PATIALLY RECOVERED] AND WILL HAVE NEW CARPET PUT IN IT SO THEN INTERIOR WILL BE 95% RESTORED/LOOKING AWESOME!
