This Impala was built as a custom show car in the early 60's from a low mile car. It was owned by the same family for almost 50 years when I purchased it last year. Modifications include shaved nose and deck, relocated gas filler, vinyl top, upholstered trunk, package tray and inner firewall, early GM bucket seats, chrome reverse wheels and lots of chrome plating inside outside and underneath. It had a 409 4 speed installed when built but that was changed to a 65 model 396 in 1977. The 4 speed was changed to a turbo 400 a few years back. Rear end is a 3:55 positraction. (409 and 4 speed NOT available) Car was shown in Houston area from 1967 through 1974. Winning Trophies and vintage photo's from that time are included with car. The owners son said his father rarely drove the car and trailered it to shows. It never sat outside and has spent most of it's life in storage since the early 70's being driven only occasionally since the late 90's. Although showing it's age, it is still very clean throughout including the undercarriage. Body is extremely tight and solid with no rust issues. Runs and drives very well. This is a unique and interesting survivor of 60's car culture and will make a very cool addition to any collection. Definitely must see to appreciate. $23,500.
