The name Impala originated from a southern African antelope known for its speed and prowess. As lesser Chevrolet's were given dual taillights, the Impala had triple taillights. In 1964, the SS, representing Super Sport, was considered a separate series for the first time rather than an Impala option package. The SS trim included tri-bar wheel covers, rear cove molding, instrument panel and console, SS badges on the exterior and engine-tuned trim on the side moldings. This beautiful show quality "driver" '64 Impala SS Sport Coupe is properly equipped with all the desirable SS options and will definitely turn heads and garner lots of "thumbs-up" action whenever driven.
• Exterior: The laser-straight and rust-free body panels on this Impala SS are complemented by a spectacular factory Tuxedo Black finish. All panel gaps are uniform and there is no sign of rust on the body or undercarriage. All bright work, chrome and stainless trim and bumpers are in excellent condition. Doors, hood, and trunk deck open and shut perfectly.
• Interior: The sparkling white vinyl interior and black dash pad appears fresh and free of any rips, tears, etc. The comfortable and spacious cabin is equipped with bucket seats, console with shifter, factory dash-mounted tachometer, ORIGINAL in-dash AM-FM radio, power steering, and SS floor mats. All electrical accessories are in proper working order; heat, defrost, emergency brake and indicator, clock and tachometer.
• Engine and Driveline: Power is provided by strong running 327cid/300 hp engine, backed by a venerable Powerglide automatic transmission, 4 barrel carb, aluminum intake, headers, cool sounding glass pack mufflers and a solid dual exhaust system. The undercarriage and suspension are in very nice condition as a testament to have not been subjected to the elements of winter driving.
• Wheels & Tires: GM Rally wheels and P225-60R 15 radial tires.
