1962 Chevrolet Impala SS 409

A beautifully restored rust free Super Sport Impala with some tasteful upgrades. Finished in Roman Red with Black Vinyl interior complete with bucket seats and center console. Upgrades include power windows, Custom Auto Sound CD stereo with Sirius XM capability, kick panel and rear deck speakers, Hurst shifter, Auto Meter gauges and custom reduced size factory looking steering wheel. The exterior paint finish is excellent as well as all of the new chrome and stainless trim throughout and the 15 inch Staggered American Racing wheels with BFG T/A radials really make the Classic Impala look the part. Under the hood is where the fun begins with a Shavers Specialties built 409 power plant bored to a 427 Cubic inch beast complete with Steel crank, roller rockers, Z-11 cam specs, polished and ported heads, dual quad AFB carburetors, Pertronix ignition, Cold Case aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, Doug’s headers with dual Flow Master exhaust exiting all the way out back. Mated to that awesome power plant is a Borg Warner T10 wide ratio 4 speed manual transmission with Ram Billet flywheel, new clutch, Moser 9 inch rear differential with 3.23 TruTrac Posi-Traction making it easy to achieve highway speeds without laboring the engine. A set of larger front and rear sway bars as well as some adjustable QA1 shocks on all four corners really help the ride and handling. A 600 close ratio Power Steering gearbox and Hydroboost front power disc brake setup will bring this heavy Chevy to a stop with ease. Finding this vintage Impala in original condition is getting much harder to track down these days making this one an excellent Collector car worth hanging on to. SOLD
