We were coming off a huge victory overseas with people, who had been saving there money, were ready to buy. Chevy realized this and would take advantage of the emerging market selling in total a little over 1.25 million cars. This 51 though may look stock outside but has undergone a complete transformation making a very fun and roadworthy vehicle. Under the hood is the most common, most reliable engine to have ever leave Detroit, the small block in this sedan is ready to haul more than just groceries. The GM performance crate 350 sounds great and performs even better. With the engine part taken care of a transmission would be next. The TH350 was an easy pick giving this car an extremely reliable ultra durable unbelievably simple drivetrain. Naturally the front end was not going to cut it so a Mustang II set up was used making this one of the best driving 51's around. The new glass was installed with all new rubber moldings making this a watertight vehicle that can even be driven in the rain especially with the modern electric wipers. The black paint looks great and only compliments just how nice the body truly is. With the front and back bumpers as well as the grill being freshly planted the outside of this Deluxe is a glowing example of why everyone loved and still loves the 50's.
