1965 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Coupe Original 396 Big Block 4 Speed. Beautiful Black On Black.

Sting Rays documented history includes original paper work showing that it was stolen in May 1970, then recovered in June of 1970. When stolen the trim Tag and original VIN plate was removed. According to the police report the car was Black in 1970. Car then sat in garage from early 1980's till the current owner purchased car in early 2000's.

Current owner pulled body off frame to strip original Black paint & repainted Black. Frame was not restored. Engine was rebuilt bored .030 over & milled (the original production #'s were lost in the milling). Installed 11-106-3 Comp Cam & 10.5 pistons. Have original 3863144 cam & domed std., pistons. Valve covers are original just chromed. New gas tank installed. Block casting # 3855962 425 hp L78 396ci. Head casting # 3856208 425 hp L78 396ci. Transmission casting # 3851325.

Cars original VIN # indicates its the 15668th built this combined with the Big Block only 6500 rpm red line tachometer is further indication that this an original big block Corvette. Transmission # is matching to original VIN. Currently has scatter shield installed. but have original bell housing Factory 4 wheel disc brakes Power antenna.
