You are gazing at an EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN 1957 CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE (Totally Restored) Offered for sale is my low mileage 1957 Corvette that has been professionally and completely restored. The color of the car is Venetian Red with Shoreline Beige coves and a beige interior. Everything on this car is in perfect working condition and was either restored or replaced during an extensive restoration process. Even the seat cushions were completely restored, including new coils and seat foams. All the chrome on the car has been redone and appears as new with no pitting what so ever. All the stainless steel parts were also polished prior to reassembly. The engine and drive train were rebuilt, as well as the suspension, and the car was fitted with a complete new interior, new soft top, and new glass. All the wiring in the car has been replaced and all the gauges have been rebuilt, including new lens and rechroming of the bezels. As well as being rebuilt, the speedometer was turned back to zero and now shows approximately 6,000 miles driven since the restoration was completed. The engine revolution counter on the tachometer was also turned back to zero. The car has a 283 cubic inch V-8 engine fitted with a single 4 barrel carburetor (most reliable to the three carburetor configurations offered in 1957) and a manual four speed transmission. During the restoration process a lot of attention was given to details and everything was kept as close to stock in appearance as possible (the way it rolled off the assembly line). The shifter is even the original type that was installed at the factory, not a Hurst, and it has an original shifting knob. The valve stems on the wheels are also the original rigid brass type, not rubber, with reproduction valve stem caps. In addition, the car is fitted with an original Wonderbar radio that has been upgraded to AM/FM stereo with a CD/mp3 jack. The radio looks and functions just like it originally did with mechanical seek, etc.; however, an LED light in the dial indicates AM or FM operation, and the radio is wired to a 6 disc remotely controlled CD changer mounted tastefully in the trunk. The clock has also been upgraded to digital for convenience and accuracy, and looks just like the original. I have the original clock movement that will go with the car. Additionally, the engine has been upgraded to electronic ignition for convenience and reliability, and a spin off oil filter conversion was added. The car is also fitted with wide whitewall Coker redial tires for improved drivability with original appearance. This Corvette is optioned with interior courtesy lights, an emergency brake warning light, and a heater/defroster that works great with a 2 speed blower fan. An auxiliary fan has also been installed in the engine compartment for added cooling and to ensure the engine operates at proper temperatures. It is attached to the back of the radiator and can only be seen if you look for it, not readily visible. This car has been kept in a climate controlled garage since the restoration and has been meticulously cared for by an avid classic sports car enthusiast. The car is extremely clean and has not been driven in inclement weather since being restored. It always starts right up and tracks straight down the road. When entered in a car show it always comes home with a trophy, and when driven out and about it is a real head turner. This car needs to be driven and enjoyed. It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it and I guarantee that it would do the same for you. I am getting close to retirement age and I have four sports cars; and although it saddens me to do so, I’m selling the Corvette because I’ve decided it is time to start down sizing. The car is located in Oswego, New York, northwest of Syracuse, and is available for inspection upon appointment.
This is a significant car. SOLD
