1963 CHEVROLET CORVAIR CONVERTIBLE
"MONZA 900"
INTRODUCTION
Own a piece of Americana with this great condition 1963 Convertible with only 34k original miles! I have had this Corvair for 3 years now and am looking at getting something different otherwise I would keep it.
The Corvair was produced by General Motors in the 1960's in response to the smaller, sportier and more fuel efficient imports being brought in from Europe. The design was a radical departure from the standard American produced automobile. The Corvair was an aluminum rear-mounted six-cylinder air-cooled engine. When the Corvair debuted in 1960, Motor Trend Magazine selected the "Poor Man's Porsche" as "Car of the Year".
The many advantages of the Corvair's design included a lower silhouette, flattening out the passenger compartment floor, improved ride comfort, traction and braking resulting from the weight distribution and balance. There were three levels of series of Corvairs: 500 series (base model), 700 series, 900 series (Monza). The vehicle offered for auction is the 900 series "Monza" (NOTE: there are several different versions of the Monza based on trim and horsepower).
This is an opportunity to possess a piece of automotive history.

I do not have a complete history of the owners of this vehicle. The mileage listed is the reading on the odometer is original and reflect actual mileage. (I have a copy of the previous stating “Actual miles”) I poses all original books.
Originally designed in 1956, Corvairs were produced by Chevrolet beginning in1960 and ending in 1969. The Corvairs were a success for GM with annual unit sales exceeding 200,000 for many of the years they were produced.
Ralph Nader's book Unsafe At Any Speed accused the earlier Corvairs of a greater tendency to cause loss of control or even roll over in many situations. However, in 1972 (three years after Corvair production was stopped) a Safety Commission Study by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration ultimately exonerated the Corvair of the accusations by Nader. The Study stated that the Corvair possessed no greater potential for loss of control than its contemporaries in extreme situations.
