Very nice Monza coupe, I'm second owner, bought from family of deceased owner 4-1/2 years ago. A few months before I bought the car, daughter of owner had her husband pull car from basement of her father's house, where it had been stored for years. They took it to a trusted mechanic to get it going again. The entire brake system and fuel system was replaced, four new shocks and front springs installed, rear springs did not arrive in time to be installed, I have them in a box. All wheel bearings were replaced, and u-joints on the rear axle half-shafts. New air filters, distributor, wires, plugs, coil and voltage regulator were installed and it was given a tune-up (which I had to redo, all the specs were way off, especially on the carbs). Five new tires were installed (one for the spare). The car is 99% rust free, what little rust there is, is easily repaired. The car runs and drives very well, a couple of things need to done, and are a little glitchy, but the car is a very presentable driver. One outstanding feature that would cost thousands to replicate today, is the custom interior, done by the original owner in the mid-'80s. He was a supervisor at a furniture factory in N.C., and did the entire interior, dash pad door and rear side panels, seats, even the board on the back of the fold-down back seat, in high quality furniture grade leather! It is gorgeous, and smells wonderful! He also painted the car himself at that time, but wasn't as good a painter as he was an upholsterer. Paint isn't terrible, it has a good gloss, and is presentable, the masking and underlying prep work wasn't quite up to par. But it's a very good paint job for an amateur home job, and a perfect 'driver' paint job. I have quite a few new parts to go with the car to address some of the minor issues the car has. For more info on the car, and for additional photos, call or email me. Reason for sale? Because I HAVE to, in order to save my daughter. She's 28' and has a rare disorder, CRPS, that left untreated, could put her in a wheelchair, permanently! I need to get her to Florida to a specialist in this disorder for treatment. So I have to sell what I otherwise would NEVER think of selling! Thank you for looking!
