This sweet race car started out as a rust free 69 Chevelle SS 396. It was converted to a race car by tubbing the rear end to accommodate the huge M/T 14” slicks mounted on 15” X 12” aluminum rims. The 402 ci block has aluminum heads and was built to produce 700 hp with the aid of the BDS 8-7-1 Supercharger. It is fed via dual Edelbrock 500 cfm carbs, the spark is controlled by a MSD 7AL ignition and it sounds ferocious ripping through its Hooker comp headers and 3” straight pipes. It is cooled by a Griffin aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. Power is transferred to the massive slicks by a Dana 60 rear end with 4.88 gears via a performance built Turbo 400 tranny with a 3500 stall, a manual valve body and a line lock that is controlled by a Hurst Quarter Stick. The ¾ chassis incorporates a 12 point roll cage, Strange 2-way shocks and is stopped by Wilwood disc brakes all the way around. The current owner spared no expense in bringing the car to its current condition before he got ill. He was going to paint it but never did. It has since sat for about 3 years before his wife decided it needs to go. Between the purchase of the original car and conversion to bring it where it currently is in excess of $40,000 has been spent. This is an opportunity to get this beast for a fraction of what it cost to build so if you like what you see don’t wait until it is too late to call! SOLD
