1972 Chevrolet Camaro is for sale in our Chicago Showroom. This modified 1972 Camaro is powered by a monstrous Dart 540 CID V8, backed by a 2-speed automatic Powerglide transmission, running to a Strange Ford 9” rear end with 4.11 gears to propel this car down the track. The 540 has aluminum heads, 13:1 compression ratio, powder-coated Headman headers, and solid roller cam is estimated to crank out about 800 horsepower! The engine and transmission have not been run on a drag strip yet, only on a dyno. This Camaro has a new radiator, center differential and axles, front and rear windows and moldings, and is tubbed out. The 1972 Camaro got off to a bad start due to a union strike and new federal safety standards made them junk about 1,100 of them because they failed to meet new bumper regulations. Turns out it would be the last year for the SS396 and SS350 and with less than 1,000 produced due to federal and EPA standards and regulations.
