Hello I have been debating for a number of years selling this Cadillac Eldorado. This was my fathers car and he bought it new in 1990. I have the original owners manual that came with it. The car has been parked in a garage just about everyday of it's life. Everything about the car is original.
It might be hard to tell from the pictures the car is a pretty metallic blue, with a black carriage top, and white leather interior. It also has a custom package known as the "gold package", which is basically gold trim around the car. It does have the Bose premium stereo AM/FM/Cassette player which was offered by Cadillac that year. I don't think CD's were around yet.
My father passed away a number of years ago and I was left with it. He transferred the title to me shortly before he passed. The car has been sitting since that time in my garage. I would like to find someone that loves Cadillac's of this vintage. Somebody that would appreciate it and love this car like my father did for years.
From what I can tell it has all the available features that were offered for that year, everything is power, door locks, windows, trunk, steering, digital electronic dash, there is no sunroof however, Automatic lights, cruise control, AC and heat, some form of a theft deterrent system.
The car runs and drives as I took it out a few days ago to make sure it would start up and run and drive and washed it off for these pictures. It will need some repair and restoration to make it pristine. I would recommend a tune up and water pump to start with.
I am actually an airplane mechanic and pilot, I occasionally work on and restore cars as well and could do what is necessary to bring the car up to the standard you might desire. Alternatively, I am willing to sell the car as is and adjust the price accordingly, if you prefer to do the work yourself or have a shop you can entrust it with.
To my knowledge the car was never wrecked, however there is a small crease in the right quarter panel where my father hit something before he gave up driving. The car was never smoked in and there were no pets or animals in the car. Sadly the leather on the front seat cushions has begun to deteriorate, all though not terrible should be repaired or replaced, which I can assist with if necessary. It does have a new headliner which I had installed a number of years back. The carpet and rest of the interior is very nice though.
Until just a few days ago I had not started or driven the car in two years. I've watched the dust gather now, which makes me sick, knowing how my father would feel and knowing that his pride and joy is being neglected. I think if he was here he would advise I sell this car.
