1990 CADDILLAC ELDORADO Ninth generation
Antique/Classic / Cedar hill, Texas
AT A GLANCE:
What have we done . . . first of all everything!
FUEL SYSTEM:
The fuel system has been completely sanitized. The tank was removed and chemically flushed to remove any scales or by products of aged fuel. A new electric fuel pump, filter, and O-rings were installed to assure trouble free performance. The steel fuel lines also were given the same treatment to assure no contamination escaped notice.
Each fuel injector was removed for inspection as well as hydro-static decontamination.
ENGINE:
New distributor assembly, Ignition module, Ignition wires, Spark Plugs, end-to-end completely renewed. Static as well as dynamic cylinder compression check(s) were performed to assure no leaks via [intake\exhaust] valves or upper compression piston rings. Oil pump pressures were also matched to factory specifications to assure engine longevity would not be compromised.
SUSPENSION-DRIVELINE:
Both driver and passenger side front axles were replaced with new updated constant-velocity performance units.
Thicker boots as well as modified passenger side half-shaft to be rid of the original isometric problem prone “forward-back lash” that was problematic with Cadillac’s original design.
Front and rear struts, A-frame bushings, ball-joints all has been renewed.
BRAKES:
New brake pads [front/rear], full hydraulic flush, end-to-end hydraulic brake line inspection, park brake cable adjustment.
WINDOWS:
Visor-tent as well as cool-blue tent has been installed on all 4 to keep the cabin “private” as well as cool in the summer. The Opera windows are 2 shades darker (legal shades) than the driver\passenger windows.
SOUND SYSTEM:
The sound system has been updated to take advantage of today’s new telephonic devices. Phone Bluetooth phrasing is possible. This allows in cabin hands-free communication while driving. As well as wireless remote. Speakers were up-graded to take advantage of the enhanced sound quality of the new digital unit.
WHEELS-TIRES:
Take special note of the signature allow wheels. These were limited editions available only by Cadillac built exclusively for the Eldorado. These units have been restored to better than factory condition. New tires have also been fitted.
INTERIOR:
While not bad the original interior had begun to show its age. New headliner, new upholstery (original Cadillac patterns were retained), dashboard restoration, new floor mats, carpet chemically cleaned and sanitized.
EXTEROR-BODY:
The original luster was restored with a fresh coat of dual-stage royal blue (the original color subscribed by Cadillac). Every attempt has been made to keep the car’s body and finish as original as possible. With the exceptional note of a small Cadillac crest added to the grill. Easily removal if desired.
LIGHTING:
All new HI-Lo bean head light elements have been replaced with new updated Ultra-bright halogens.
IN SUMMARY:
Every conceivable flaw has been addressed. Where updates to electronics, suspension, electrical's were possible, they have been made. If any OEM (original equipment manufacturer) part was substitute . . . it was definitely not due to a lack of due diligence! We were unable to locate a body molding strip (original part) prior to placing the Eldorado on the market for new ownership.
A replacement steering column was fitted after the interior restoration was commissioned. These are the only two areas of interest that I wanted to point out. I did not want them to go un-noticed.
Not that I can use the 500+ man-hours of labor to sway or enhance the sale, I think it only proper to mention to share some idea of the deep level of attention that has gone into the restoration of this vehicle.
