There's no better example of GM's styling and engineering prowess than the 1956 Cadillac Eldorado - drive one like this particular example and you will see why - its hard to believe that this car was built over 55 years ago! In 1956 the Cadillac Seville two door coupe was born and this is one of the only 3,900 total cars built. The 1956 model featured the massive grille and bullet noses with distinct shark fins unique just to the Eldorado that year. The 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Seville was priced at exactly the same price as its cousin the Biarritz convertible at $6,556 and was one of the highest priced cars of its day - and with good reason - fifties excess had virtually reached its peak with Cadillac boasting bigger cars with more chrome and larger fins than ever before! These cars bristled with the latest in modern appointments and had few rivals in the luxury market with a recession making owning one only for the very privileged elite.
Purchased from most recent long-time southern California collector/owner and obviously always garaged, covered and well maintained. The floor boards, trunk and all the typical rust-prone areas are completely original, solid and rust-free and the car has no signs of any accidents - obviously an always cherished 'Garage Queen' since new. The car has very gorgeous and very presentable 'Mandan Red' color paint with only a couple of very minor imperfections in the form of a couple of very light paint chips etc (see photos below) and with the original two tone red and white Florentine Pattern Metallic Nylon with leather bolsters and trim interior with a white headliner and matching red carpets which are in quite exceptional and in mostly completely original specification condition throughout. All the chrome is also in absolutely exceptional condition.
The 365 dual quad 4 barrel V8 engine is extremely strong and powerful and sounds absolutely magnificent and this particular car drives absolutely magnificently - must be driven to be believed - does not miss a beat and purrs like a kitten - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, shakes or rattles - a truly remarkable daily driver that will give any modern day car a run for it's money! The transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and the car is an absolute pleasure to drive!
All the options work as they should including all the power options, the power windows, power seats and the factory air conditioning! The car boasts its original spare wheel and jack in the truck and from looking at the photographs you will see that you could literally eat your lunch off either the engine or trunk compartments - unbelievable condition and virtually as good as the day it left the showroom floor in 1956!
This is an extraordinarily rare opportunity to own a great daily driving and virtually show ready example of a mostly completely original 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Seville in absolutely stunning driving and looking condition with almost every possible factory available option installed and with only approximately 61K original miles since new!
