Numbers matching car. 445 package (445ft/lbs torque) on the original 425 cubic inch "Nailhead", 340 HP 4bbl engine with good compression. Arizona car with a good, straight body.
Obtained from a relative who was the original owner. The car ran reliably as a low-mileage (25 miles per week), daily runner back then but later was stored under roof for many years. Myself and the original owner both parked under a carport. It needs a battery, radiator repair and the oil pan needs to be put back on, therefore it is only offered AS IS, WHERE IS.
The Wildcat featured higher horsepower and a beefed up suspension, compared to other Buick models, and was even equipped with posi-rear traction (although I can't remember anyone testing this feature). Originally it had dual exhaust but the original owner replaced the exhaust to single shortly before retiring the vehicle to save a few bucks. At 4,500 lbs. the car is a monster.
Makes a great restoration project car. The original interior is about what you'd expect to see on a 50 year old car so figure that in with your restoration costs. The paint is original also. I've seen these cars restored and they look great. A nice, fast, roomy, sporty looking, extra-full size car that rides like a dream and can tow just about anything up the steepest mountains without slowing down one bit.
