I have here a beautiful Century in good condition which, sadly, I am no longer in need of. This was the very last version of the body style before the transition in '76 to the hideous angled rectangles with wheels (no offense to anyone who likes that style). This particular Century is a rare example of a hardtop without the standard vinyl roof. With a few modifications, it could pass for the Free Spirit pace car.
Now, I'm not going to lie to you, as excellent as it is, this car is far from perfect. As you may or may not be able to discern from the photos, the body has several dents and dings which I never found the time to fix. There is a large crack in the dash, the gauge panel is beginning to come loose, the window seals are bad, and the valve covers could stand to be replaced.
All that being said, however, the engine (a 350 V8 big block) is in very good condition, if a bit dirty. It is all original (save the hoses, air filters, and alternator detailed in the photos) and only has 85,000 miles. It runs strong and has no major problems. The transmission, likewise, is in good condition for the age and operates flawlessly. All the electronics and wiring still work well. The AC is intact, but, unfortunately, the clutch is bad and I'm certain it needs to be recharged.
As for the body, while it does need to be hammered back into its original shape, and while it could use a good coat of paint, it is intact and the frame itself is straight. The glass of the rear window (note the concave split design) is perfectly preserved. Furthermore, the interior is in excellent condition, other than the issues mentioned above, of course. The leather seats are intact as is the carpet, and I don't mind saying that this is one comfortable ride. Speaking of which, it was pointed out to me by another, more experienced, old car enthusiast that the shocks are, evidently, in absolutely pristine condition. While the Century will never be placed on the same pedestal as, say, the luxurious old Cadillacs, it certainly will give them a run for their money.
I believe that about covers everything. Should you have any further questions, or if you would like to make an offer, I can most easily be reached via e-mail or by phone at (435) 245-6659.SOLD
