This 1970 AMC AMX is located in our Louisville KY showroom. In 1968 AMC would introduce the first all steel American Built two seater since Ford's 55-57 T-bird. Considered by many to be more of a competitor to the Corvette for substantially less money, the AMX set a number of records. This Little AMX is a great example of what they came like from the factory. What you see is a fully restored AMX that has 1500 miles on it since its completion. The car has just about every option in ‘70 including air conditioning and a power antenna. Under the hood, the original 390 is putting out at least 365 ponies which will lead to an awesome display of asphalt pounding, tire shredding nasty burn outs with just a push of the pedal. The engine has a fresh rebuild with upgrades consisting of an Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor sitting on an Edelbrock Performer intake, Edelbrock full length headers, mild cam, and dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. The has been dressed up with a chrome Edelbrock air cleaner, chrome Edelbrock valve covers, chrome oil breather, chrome brake reservoir cover and chrome power steering pump cover. The power assisted brakes work excellent with a set of disc upfront bringing this little two seater to a quick stand still. The power steering is crisp and fluid with no dead spots anywhere in the turning range. The body work and paint are fresh as is the bumpers and grill. The paint is in excellent condition, it is such a deep black that your reflection can be seen as if it were a mirror. Open the door and the black interior is fresh with new carpet and fresh black vinyl seat covers. We do not get an AMX in our showroom very often, but when we do they go fast!
